Why Do You Need To Take So Many Medications?!
Chances are, if you have high blood pressure, cholesterol problems, and/or type II diabetes, and you are overweight or obese, you don’t need all the meds you are on. By joining our weight management programs, you’ll probably be able to stop many of your medications. Not only that, you’ll feel better and look better.
How Will Weight Loss Help?
Being overweight or obese leads to insulin resistance, accelerating the development of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, liver and kidney disease. It ages your body faster, robs you of energy, makes you short of breath, and puts you at risk for obstructive sleep apnea. It increases risk for a number of different cancers!
This weight problem affects not only you, it also affects your family. The risk to children becoming obese in a household where at least one parent already is obese is somewhat under 50%, but approaches up to 80% in households where both parents are obese.
Are you Sleepy And Irritable Most Of The Time?
Excess weight affects your sleep pattern. In its most extreme form it leads to Sleep Apnea Syndrome. Even before this extreme, you sleep less efficiently, have more daytime drowsiness, and are more irritable. This has adverse affects on you home life, friendships, and even your job performance!
I Already Have a Physician...
That’s great! We want you to keep your present physician. We accept referrals and will keep your primary care doctor informed of your progress every step of the way. Our Physician, Dr. Titus A. Taube, is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, a Medical Society dedicated to the practice of medically supervised weight and nutritional management. We want your personal physician to be pleased with your success.
What Are The Facts?
- It’s calories in vs. calories out! You can’t cheat physics! To lose weight you must take in fewer calories than you put out.
- Exercise is also important but it is not a substitute for dieting. There are about 3,500 calories in a pound of fat. There are only 100 to 120 calories burned in walking a mile.

What Is Safe & Effective?
Most effective programs reduce the carbohydrate portions of the diet and increase protein content. The safer is a balanced program that considers essential nutrients while avoiding excess calories .
In years past, 300 and 400 calorie/day plans were used with some success. Unfortunately, when studied, it was shown that the weight loss was no greater than present day 800 calorie and up plans. Furthermore, some otherwise healthy people dropped dead in the middle of the night after a month or more on such plans. At T², we use well documented plans which are safe and effective. These plans work in both healthy people and those who already have other chronic diseases. We do use appetite suppressants when indicated and needed, buy only about 30% of our patients seem to need them.
